Of course, this Joss stuff is upsetting but Joss isn't the only person who had a part in creating the show. IMHO avoiding the show and the fandom would be terribly unfair to all the other people who helped create the show. Many of whom suffered for their art and I would hate to add to their suffering by shunning their hard work and suffering because their boss was an asshole.
Yeah, fair point! I don't think watching shows or participating in fandoms is the kind of thing that we can owe to anyone, but it's very true we can't boycott the people in charge without boycotting everyone else who was involved.
Good points all. For 1, the opposing forces of distancing vs being thankful do create a lot of painful tension, and I'm feeling a bit torn between them (though the distancing pulls harder right now). I suppose most of the actors and others involved in creating BtVS/AtS are feeling torn in the same way, but a lot worse.
