[ the test has been reprogrammed several times since james t. kirk originally took and beat the it via cheating, but the set hasn't changed much. there's a holographic simulation in addition to the original scenario room, but some people would rather take the test here where it all began and not tangled up in photons, light, and force fields ( Read more... )

[ McCoy had scarcely explored any of the Alpha Quadrant on the five-year mission before he was plucked during mid-transportation and ending up in a fictional city. He truly despised that kind of technology… even more so than shuttlecrafts.

Orders were orders though. McCoy could gripe until the cows came home, James T. Kirk would always manage to get him on that transporter pad and scatter his atoms to somewhere completely different. Today was no exception; but this was not the place he expected to be sent to and he shared this sentiment very much vocally as he glanced around the testing room. ]

[ a bit startled by a voice within a program that's not one of the senior or bridge officers summoning him to duty or the computer's dull tone -- nevermind the program not having any people programmed into it yet -- tom jumps, nearly dropping the apple. he turns to face the doctor, raising an eyebrow at the old uniform. ]

Old sciences blue. Nice touch. Wasn't aware Harry had programmed anyone into this thing yet.

[ takes a bite of the apple, but he chews with his mouth closed, unlike kirk. ]

[ His face contorts as the man takes an obnoxious bite into the apple after that comment about his uniform. Unconsciously he smoothes down his medical blue - stupid Tom, you should recognize the medical uniform, stupid boy - and growls at the man. ]

Programmed? Are you the one responsible for bringing me here, kid?

I activated the program, so you could say...yes. Who're you supposed to be?

[ he'd have to remind harry that they didn't wear traditional uniforms of any kind when taking this test. he wasn't a command student and even he knew that. and why harry had put a character in science blue made no sense. he could understand confusion with red and gold of that era, but blue? oh, harry, harry, harry. you have much to learn, my young padawan. ]
