he might have intervened or offered to pay for her drink, except for the two fundamental flaws in those plans: not respectively, drinks were free and he had no idea how to deal with gruff women. really. absolutely none. though she was striking in a way, and there had been a scene, and my could she drink, so he was probably staring longer than necessary. ]
