[ In all honesty, she didn't want to be near Sickbay. She would have been able to handle Commander Spock's condition just fine. Except McCoy had started rambling off like he was the Commander. Even sitting in his quarters and talking about Nyota - Uhura. It was unsettling and she wasn't sure what to do.

Really - she was scared. Not of him. But ( Read more... )

[ since coming to shtel nor, seven of nine's regeneration cycles had been frequently interupted and her schedule was off. since coming to the station she'd become akin to walking around the quiet corridors and promenade on a night, appreciating the peace. it wasn't often that she came upon someone during her walk, but tonight she came across someone who was unfamiliar to her, and oddly dressed ]

Do you require assistance?

[ startled, smith looked up at the blond with the odd cybernetic implants on her body. she blinked a few times before shaking her head. ]

I'm fine...

[gaila hadn't been able to sleep, either, and therefore was also in the promenade, busying herself with programming songs into the karaoke machine that was still set up. it was a useless thing to be doing, she knew, but she felt better working with her hands than sitting on them ( ... )

[ her eyes went to the orion woman. cadet gaila - though she had only met one of the two on the station. a small smile formed on her face. ]

That's right.

[she gave the woman a little smile back, pushing a bright red curl behind her ear.]

Can't sleep, either?

[ sam kirk was completely unaware of what had transpired with commander spock. he hadn't spoken to his little brother since he broke his hand on julian bashir's face and at the moment, was too overwhelmed by his own personal turmoil due to the complexities of this place to frankly give a damn about anything else. sam usually wasn't this selfish, but it was a lot for one man to take in and he was having trouble digesting it. information about the future in regards to his brother, to a friend, to anyone else? he could handle. himself? not so much. especially when the news was so damn grim.

he'd been down one the promenade, sitting in a corner of the bar as he tired to dodge that ferengi. nothing against the guy, sam just wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone. having finally decided he'd had enough wallowing in public, he decided to take the self pitying bullshit to his own quarters where he could do so without anyone watching-- too bad linette was in the way, blocking his path up the stairs. ]

Sleepwalking?

[ linette looked up at him. oh. slowly she stood and moved to a side of the stairs, allowing him to walk past. the question made her tilt her head with a playful glance. ]

Nope. Just couldn't sleep.

[ instead of walking past her, he took a seat next to her on the side of the stairs she'd vacated to make a path for him. ]

I know the feeling.

[ shifting slightly she moved herself to sit up on the railing of the stairs. probably not the best idea, but it was more comfortable than standing around in her socks. cardassian stairs were uncomfortable. ]

How about I put your hand in a proper cast and we can talk about what's on our minds.
