[Julian had given Gaila a few days, hoping against hope that she'd come to some kind of realisation that she missed him terribly as well. And that maybe, it was worth trying again. But she hadn't made any kind of contact ( ... )

[ she forcibly kept herself from humming while she worked - in fact, she hadn't hummed in days. at first she tried a couple songs she hadn't heard in a while, ones that didn't remind her of him, but it took all the ease and simplicity out of the act, so she decided to just stop. it would feel natural again eventually.

[ gaila froze. she'd been living the past couple of days blissfully (or perhaps not so blissfully, were she not in denial) note-free, and she thought that meant it was the end of it. returning kuka would be closing the case. but there he was, with absolutely no feasible reason to be there except to see her.

reluctantly, she turned her head toward him. ]

I thought we had an agreement.
