[ Why the hell hadn't he thought of this before? How long had it been staring him in the face until now? And why did it take until talking to Ena in the library to notice it? Kirk had no answers to his own questions. He was running on a high. A high of excitement. Something he hadn't felt since before his time on Shtel Nor.

Maybe, just maybe, he ( Read more... )

[ When someone races through the halls, passing someone so fast their hair almost blows in their wake, they're bound to attract some attention. So a very, very confused and curious Ena turns and races after Jim. When she jogs into Ops, she gives all the PADDs a confused look. ]

So did you just figure out unified field theory? Discover a cure for the common cold?

[Jadzia had been headed to Ops to ask Holly to help her with a few things for her spacewalk when she'd spied James barreling up ahead, jumping into the ops turbolift.

It was on her lips to call out to him, he looked very excited about something. But then Jadzia remembered that he wasn't exactly in her good books right now.

So she waited for the turbolift to return and entered Ops more sedately. She nodded to Holly, and James, and then moved to the other console station, setting her own PADD down.]

"Holly, can you please show me the closest maintenance airlock to the communications array on the outer station hull schematic."

[ While Jadzia spock to Holly, Kirk had taken the moment to speak to Spock, Picard, Janeway, and Ena. He kept his voice low and tried not to cause a panic or anything worse. Of course the situation with Uhura from .55 turned a little sour when they both realized what it would mean if Kirk was right.

In the end he sighed and continued to work on the sensors. ]

[Even though she made a show of working on her own project, Jadzia was very aware of James being there, consulting with other people, and of course his sigh.

She didn't like the fact that they weren't talking. That there was a distance between them. It physically hurt; her stomach feeling like it was twisting itself into knots. But she was still angry about what had happened to Julian.

Then again, this couldn't go on forever. So she stopped what she was doing and swiveled to face him directly.]

So, is it over? This ridiculous grudge thing with Julian?

I don't have a grudge against Bashir. Didn't tell Sam to punch him in the face. Not defending anyone in this situation. Sam might of over stepped his boundaries, but Bashir got into other people's business and tried to be a knight in shining armor.

[ He tapped on the console a few times before looking at one of the PADDS. ]

You seem happy.

[the comment was made from somewhere behind jim's back. she'd seen him rush in from her seat at one of the tracking stations and once she'd seen him gather all the PADDs, she'd gotten curious about what he was looking up. so she'd stood and was now standing near him, standing at attention with an expression on her face that was somewhere between amusement and interest.]

[ kirk looked up at her, paused, then looked over at the uhura from 2258.55. a long pause before he looked back at the uhura now beside him and offered a raised eyebrow look. ]

Fifty-Eight.

[she frowned, then followed his line of vision over to...her other self. huh. oddly enough, she'd only run into herself twice since arriving, while most of the kirks seemed to be friendly with each other. and the spocks seemed to at least be acquaintances.

her gaze settled back on him, mirroring his raised eyebrow expression.]

Good guess. [she tilted her head in .55's direction.] Fifty?

You'd be right. Really it's a tie between you and Fifty-Five. God only knows where my Uhura went.

[ a shrug. he prefered the other two uhuras. ]
