[ kirk had literally cheered when he saw sam nail bashir. and then promptly apologized for throwing his martini into dawson's face. poor kid. though he had seen how jadzia was instantly at bashir's side and decided to make an exit to find his brother. damage control? sort of. kirk wasn't going to apologize for sam's actions. because he knew his brother wasn't sorry.

thankfully holly was kind enough to tell him where his brother was. mess hall. it'd be empty, though a few people had already started to leave. he saw fifty-five bolt out and wondered what got him all in a work. there'd be time for that later. ]

[ sammy? he looked up and over at his little brother from where he'd been standing by the replicator, ready to demand a bag of ice for his hand and some bandages for where julian's face had split open his knuckles. he'd hit the guy pretty damn hard, but the ass deserved it for upsetting jim like he did. jim hadn't called him sammy like that -- without blatant, provoking sarcasm when they were in one of their name calling sessions that usually led to roughhousing between the pair -- in a long time and it made sam blink at him in mild confusion. ]

[ sam pauses to request bandages and a bag of ice from the replicator as he was about to before jim walked up. ]

Yeah. It'll heal to punch asshole doctors in the face another day.

[ after her talk with mccoy, she had turned around to find julian getting punched in the face. clearly the chat she had with him before didn't save him... or wasn't helpful at all. but then again it was sam that had hit him. she got the feeling that the kirks were closer than she originally thought. but typical smith wasn't nosy unless your name was leonard mccoy and you were hiding something that was hurting you.

she had been on her way back to her quarters when she passed the mess hall and saw him. carrying her shoes by their bands in one hand, smith walked over to him. with her hand extended out for his. ]

[ sure, he was fiddling with the bandages awkwardly with his left hand when he was right handed, but he could manage. he didn't need her help and he shook his head at her after taking a moment to eye her attire. hurt hand and irritation aside, he was still a kirk. ]

[ her eyebrows went up as her free hand went on her hip. why did every man on this station refuse to let her look at their injured hands? men. she rolled her eyes and kept her hand extended. ]

I'm a doctor, hot shot. Let me make sure it's not broken and you can go about bandaging it.

[ have sam's best imitation of a vulcan, ie: eyebrow raise. he eyes her for a moment and decides he can't tell a pretty girl no and huffs defeatedly and holds the hand out. he was failing at badaging it, anyway. better for his ego for her to offer than for him to ask for help. ]

[First do no harm. He hated that oath because right now, McCoy had badly wanted to throttle Bashir until he finally shut up, but decided that the other doctor had been maimed enough after the one-sided brawl in the holo-deck he had heard through word of mouth.

After fixing the other man up, he had decided to leave Bashir to his own devices and headed over to the Mess Hall in order to cool down before going to meet up with Emony at the nightclub again. It was not the older doctor’s fault for his current state of mine; McCoy was just aggravated.

He enters the Mess Hall and spots Sam Kirk sitting at one of the tables cradling a beer in his hand while the other rested on an icepake. Emitting a sigh, he ambles over to the table.]

You probably upset Holly with that furore in the holodeck, you know.

[ sam looks up and recognized him as his brother's smashed friend who'd been naming tribbles and was with that really hot blonde trill. lucky bastard. ]

You act like I care about what Holly Doll thinks about that.

[He raises an eyebrow.]

[ sam snorts. ]

The asshole had it coming and I'll happily tell her that. He deserved it and I was glad to do it.

[ Tough luck, Sammy. Ena's meandering into the mess hall to grab some munchies before heading back to the quarters she shares with Deven. Another person in the room is odd and it makes Ena look to see who's avoiding the party. When she sees it's Sam cradling his hand she rolls her eyes. ]

Who'd you punch out this time, Sam?

[ he was hoping the mess hall would be empty, but thank god it's only his sister. sister. still getting used to that. ]

Some bastard who deserved it. You'll probably hear about it soon enough. Probably pissed off half the station in the process.

[ She runs through a list of people she's met in her head and then her eyes widen. ]

Tell me you didn't punch Chekov, Sam. That's low, even for you.

[ sam...didn't even know who this chekov guy was. sounded russian, though. ]
