[ perched on the ledge of one of the great windows in one of the halls of the habitat ring, far from the promenade and away from where those trapped on the station have taken up residence, sits one captain jean-luc picard. there's an alien flute in hand that he's playing, filling the adjoining corridors with a soft, sweet melody. ]

[ Jimena's taken to exploring the parts of the station she hasn't seen after the whole space whale incident. There were too many places that she'd normally be (her quarters being one of them) that reminded her of the hallucinations. This little exploration had been the best yet, though. OR so she thinks as she stands a little ways away from Picard, just listening to the music. When the tune ends she steps forward a bit, standing just a bit straighter as her "Captain mode" clicks on. ]

Captain Picard. I hope I'm not interrupting.

[ he played through the rest of the measure before pulling the flute away from his lips and shifting on the ledge so that he could turn to regard the female kirk without straining his neck. he offered her a warm smile. ]

Oh no, not at all.

[ She gives the other Captain a smile that she hopes is warm, although it make be a bit tense around the edges. Jim holds a lot of respect for this man and he's Deven's Captain. That makes her a little nervous about actually talking to him outside of a brief Captain's meeting. ]

How are you doing in the wake of this whole space whale incident, Captain?

[ oh, picard is well aware of jimena's relationship with lieutenant lanford, but unlike lanford, where he had the right to speak up unwarranted as the young man's commanding officer, jimena is his equal and her business is her own -- nevermind that he had resolved to keep his distaste for the romantic tanglings of those on the station to himself. still, she's in for the utmost polite treatment. he's a european gentleman, after all. ]

Quite well, thank you. I must inquire as to how you are holding up? The incident was rough on everyone, save Q.
