[ though kirk sure wasn't happy about being here, if he were going to get stranded on any space station in the middle of subspace, at least it was the station that had everything. when he'd gotten tired of experimenting with the replicators himself, he read up on them. impressive technology. he found a few other journals worth perusing - technical ( Read more... )

[ she had finally managed to escape the sickbay after submitting to the commander's request to be looked over. submitting was a term that she used loosely, of course, but it was done, and it was over with. and if she could help it, she was never going back to that part of the spacestation again.

heading back towards her quarters, uhura was relieved to see jim on the promenade on the way. that saved her a lot of waiting or looking, but before she was able to attract him attention, another appeared as well.

it wasn't until she got closer that she was able to make out the difference well enough for it to matter. well, damn. ]

Something tells me this is mess with Jim Kirk week.

[ or maybe it was just mess with jim kirk lifetime. from the things that happened around him, it seemed that way. ]

[ kirk looked up and - whoa, there he was. wearing a gold shirt. all right. it was both alarming and validating to see the version of himself from exactly three years in the future. most of that, though, he tried not to let show. just dropped the padd in his lap and made something of a vague wave. ]

Nice shirt.

[ he looked up, eyebrows raised. ]

Because you can take things out of it? Yeah, probably. You should try it sometime. Apparently people have been doing it for centuries.

[She rolled her eyes.]

Sometimes I do, but the library has the advantage of not having any distractions. Most of the time.

See, for me it has too many distractions.

[ he gave her a mostly pointed, only slightly suggestive look. ]

Nice uniform.

[ he'd taken to the regulation boots and pants and black undershirt, because he had no intention of wearing that bright red thing when there was no one around making him. ]
