> there is always something there to remind me [ whale arc end ]

[ Amaryllis stood on the observation deck. In the distance was Gracie II, taking her leave of the station. The Captains had devised that she should communicate with the whale and communicate the dire circumstances people were in. With the help of Ambassador Spock, she was able to do as such. Gracie II left without any complaints - merely sincerity ( Read more... )

[ Chekov was sitting a little ways away on the observation deck, watching as the space whale floated away from the station. His headache was leaving him, something he was incredibly grateful for, but he still couldn't quite wrap his mind around the fact that a whale had caused all the problems on the station. Besides, weren't whales supposed to be extinct?

He shakes his head in disbelief and, smiling, turns to go for a little stroll wherever the artificial wind may take him. His head wasn't hurting and he was in his right mind... he was going to enjoy the next few hours before finding something to work on. ]

Heading back for a final check up, I hope, Pavel.

[ Kirk fell into stride next to his navigator. After talking with his twin and seeing the infamous Gracie II leave? He was feeling in a rather decent mood. Tired, but decent. ]

Ah...

[ Chekov whistles innocently and determinedly looks anywhere but at Kirk. Nope, he wasn't heading that way. Sorry, Captain. ]

[Goodbye you Goddamn Whale, McCoy thinks as he watches Gracie II float away from the station and his headache slowly begin to dissipate with the growing distance between the station and the whale. But he can't help but feel... no, forget it. Goodbye forever, Gracie II.]

[ Jimena walks up behind Bones and claps him on the shoulder. ]

You think you'd look a little happier now that the latest epidemic is over.

[Jadzia woke up in sickbay, feeling better than she had for a few days. She couldn't remember much, except that she seemed to recall James being there, and Julian, and Kira?

There had also been an older southern gentleman hovering over her, assuring her he was a doctor.

She was still a bit weak and groggy, but the headache was nearly gone and the voices...

They were back to where they should be, a manageable level, no longer vying for dominance. She pushed herself up to a sitting position, looking around.]

Certainly looks as if you're doing better, Commander.

[ McCoy gave a nod to Jadzia. He walked over to her and glanced over the scanner above the bed. Everything seemed in order. ]

I feel better, more...myself. Do I have you to thank for that?

[She smiled at him, trying to place him. He was new, but there was something about him that was familiar.]

Technically you can thank your third host. Her normalized isoboramine is what did it.

[Gul Dukat had gone up to the observation deck to see what all the fuss was about. Talk of some translucent space-faring mammalian creature that resembled a fish which was causing all of the problems on the station? Well, he had to see it for himself.]

So that was it? That was what was causing all of that strife? Good riddance, if you ask me.

Yup.

[ -Ena walks up beside Dukat with her hands shoved in her jeans pockets. She's out of uniform, preferring something a bit less formal so she can just relax. ]

Bye, Gracie. Thanks for making our ears bleed.

You named it? [He scoffed at her with amusement.] You humans do tend to anthromorphize everything.

[He noticed that she was out of uniform, but he behaved himself and did not leer too blatantly.]

If this is what was responsible, then I am not surprised that they were seemingly hunted into extinction hundreds of years ago.

I didn't name it, Ambassador Spock did.

[ She turns to Dukat and gives him the Kirk eyebrow. ]

The ones that went extinct lived in water. Last I checked, space wasn't an ocean.

[ With people slowly leaving Sickbay, Smith sat down at the small table. Her fingers brisked over the PADD in her lap as she looked over the various cases of people that had come in. Trills and Vulcans seemed to have the worst reactions, despite her and Lieutenant Moraeu. She glanced up and knew that as soon as she saw McCoy from .50, she was sending him to bed. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Though she kept her eye on the older doctor that was walking around. She hadn't seen a uniform like his yet. ]

[He figured he had better put in an appearance to make sure that Jimena's "escape" hadn't been too terrible, although he suspected it was. Still, he poked his head back into sickbay, significantly more upbeat than he had been the last time he was here now that his headache was fading, and spotted Linette sitting at a table staring at a doctor he hadn't seen before. So he pulled his best sneak and came up behind her as quietly as possible.]

Keep staring, he might think you're interested.

Lanford!

[ She nearly smacked him as she spun around behind her. Luckily she had more restraint than that at the moment. The dull ache in her head still bothered her but she had noticed the lack of her best friend. ]
