[ emony was, by this point, aware that something wasn't quite right, but there was a part of her that didn't seem to mind it all that much as she wandered the station, looking for milayn, even though she knew that, logically, the young trill wasn't there. the child had been gone for quite some time, but emony could not ignore the overwhelming urge ( Read more... )

[There was indeed medical staff present as Emony strolled into Sickbay. On any quieter day, someone would have answered her question immediately, but the medical bay today was overrun with patients, all littered from different timelines and it took a while for someone to register there was another entrance.

It was Doctor McCoy sans eight days who noticed her first. Mentally and physically exhausted, he was taking a break and trying to blot out the shadows flickering across his vision and quash the drilling his head by sticking another hypo against his neck in a last ditch effort to quell the discomfort and continue his duties as Head Medical Officer.

[ emony turned towards the sound of familiar voice, the lela personality shrinking back momentarily beneath the barriers that were supposed to keep her and tobin separate from emony. she blinked once, twice as her brows knitted together in confusion. why was she-- right. milayn. ...but milayn had been dead for years, died long before lela, herself, had passed on.

[McCoy manages to shunt his disbelief aside for the moment as he shrugs off the white medical jacket he has been wearing for… hell, he has lost count just how many hours this outbreak has lasted and approaches her in order to wrap it around her. He would not be much of a gentleman if he didn't, after all.

On any other day, he would notice the exertion on her face as she inwardly battles with the personality of the Dax Symbionts past hosts swirling in her head, but there an impenetrable haze weighing the doctor down. Amaryllis was across Sickbay tending to someone else when McCoy notices something about the Dax and he pales.]

My God... what happened?

[ the third host of the dax symbiont had no way of knowing what leonard was talking about when he regarded her with such a look or asked such a question. she slipped her arms in the jacket, grateful for it, and reached out to touch that now-pale skin. ]

It's nothing. I'm...just a little confused.
