Moving again

I've accepted a job offer--permanent and with benefits--at a library on the Fort Carson military base in Colorado Springs. I leave in two weeks.

Currently the terror is overwhelming the anticipation but if anybody knows anyone in the Colorado Springs area, I'd be grateful for an introduction.

Going to put things in boxes and jibber for awhile...

I have a cousin who lives with her family in C Springs, but she's kind of a rectum* and I wouldn't wish her on you. (On the other hand, I will pass that her mother said she takes as much moisturizer as she can cram in her bag when she visits; it is Dry City, apparently.)

*By which I mean she refuses to involve herself with the local Tea Partiers as they are a little too liberal for her tastes. D:

Also, you may want to make sure your windows and doors are locked once you're there, due to a prison break in the area. :D

I don't know anyone who lives there, but my most recent former roommates visited there once and really loved it. The photos they took are gorgeous. And I'm willing to bet that any local grocery stores will actually carry soy sauce. ;)

Congratulations! It's so great that you'll have a permanent job with benefits! Two weeks is a pretty short time to have to move, but I really hope that the move goes well and that you like it in Colorado. *hugs* Good luck!
