What a wonderful beginning. I love the fairy tale like atmosphere you have set this story in. It has the feeling of being on the edge of reality and fantasy. The little snippets of their meetings becoming the basis of a relationship that is deepening. I also like how you have the tinges of grief on John's part, and not fitting into her own life or Rose's. Neither one actually seem to belong in their realities and yet find solace and joy in each other. I am really looking forward to the next chapter of this story.

I think reality is about to intrude on their happy little world.
