This is really fantastic. Love the idea of the psychic pollen affecting Rose, dragging up things that might have been buried deep in her mind.

I also love that you used a quotation from The Waste Land. <3

Yay first go and someone got it was the psychic pollen! :D I worried it would be vague for some people; I know some haven't seen S5, but I didn't want to reference "Amy's Choice" in the A/N and ruin what little surprise it was! That flowers picture just really jogged me and got me thinking about what it would have been like if she'd run across it and what it might have brought up for her; I had to give it a shot.

And hee, English major problem is that I quote literature a lot! I had a class period on Eliot today, funnily enough, and when I saw the prompt earlier this week, "April is the cruelest month..." was the first thing that popped into my head!

Oooh, good one! I love stories about Rose universe-hopping. And very interesting how the alien pollen brought up all her fears about the Doctor, and her guilt about killing him.

Dimension-hopping is admittedly a bit of a thing for me; I've done it in way too many of my fics since this past summer, LOL. And thank you--I started really wondering about that guilt after I saw a Tumblr graphic of Nine with the phrase "born in battle, died for love." I'd definitely realized that he'd died for Rose before, but hadn't really thought about it, and it just made me wonder if she ever thought about it. I figured if not then I could make her. ;)

Ooohh, psychic pollen. And the birdsong! Yep, I got it, but it was still devastating. I did adore your use of Eliot, so major kudos there. Wonderful story, even if it made my breath catch and my eyes tear a little ^_^

Thank you! :) Eliot seemed to be what I needed to work out this one; my general go-to, though, is Keats!

no longer feeling that wide-eyed wonder. One universe or the other, it's all the same to her.

Stab in the heart! :'(

I love it! Rose would still have lingering guilt even though part of her knows the Doctor wouldn't blame her or hate her for giving up his life for her, much less. Well, there's more reason for her to hate alien pollen... I also loved the tidbit about the stolen kisses, but me wonders whether the retcon really would have an effect. Of course, then that would mean the Doctor knew he'd lose her sooner or later... Yeah, I'll just pretend it really worked and he forgot all those stolen moments.

That bit about the retcon pills is actually from one of the fics that's languishing unfinished on my hard drive! I'm still not sure if I'll finish it, so I decided to slip it in. Thank you! I'm glad you liked it even through the pain.
