This is a beautiful story. I love how you've used language to give it the timelessness of a true fairy tale - the words you chose, the positioning of phrases within the sentences, the length of the sentences relative to each other, and their cadence.. everything about its construction (so much more than I've mentioned here). This could be Perrault or MacDonald, or it could be jlr weaving a tale about an alien with a ship that travels in space and time.

Warnings, magic water, a forbidden garden; either you have a lovely fairy tale here or the founding myth or a religion. Very well done.

Utterly beautiful, I loved how you made this seem as if I was reading it out of one of my ancient legends books. It kind of reminds me of the Odyssey in an abstract way. The hero leaves home and goes of looking for adventure, finds true love, looses her, has to free his people, has to find her, and save the universe. Quite a to do list, but you just know he's up to the challenge!
