The Unsinkable Ship, Nine(/Rose), G
He could stop them from getting on the ship-who’s to say he can’t? They’re gone. All of them. He’s the only one left., 350
A/N: Yes, I am, in fact, entirely aware that this is so cheesy it may as well have come from a dairy. That photo of Nine about to see the Titanic off always gets me thinking...

Loved this:
Perhaps she wasn’t being funny, he thinks, as he looks down at his old girl’s console and strokes it absently. Perhaps she was trying to give him hope.
He can feel the TARDIS inside his head-smug.
The TARDIS knows best Doctor, you should listen to her more.

The summary broke my heart.
EEK! You know, I always did find it funny how Rose and Jack had the same names as the protagonists in Titanic (of course the Doctor would make sure nothing would happen between THIS Jack and Rose), but I never made THAT connection: Perhaps she wasn’t being funny, he thinks, as he looks down at his old girl’s console and strokes it absently. Perhaps she was trying to give him hope.
Yes dear, sexy TARDIS, be smug.
Loved it!

It always entertains me, that the writers picked those two names. On Tumblr, I have to specify which Jack and Rose I'm talking about in my tags; I think that was how I first noticed the coincidence! Like I said above, when the idea for this came into my head, my first thought was that maybe the TARDIS has a little bit of the Doctor's ability to see timelines--that maybe she knew Rose and Jack would come along. I like to think she had an idea, and that she'd be smug about it. ;) Thank you!

The TARDIS would so be smug about it, as should you for writing this up!
