Not Just Anyone, Rose/Ten, PG, 4100 words

The stranger grabbed her hand and told her, “Run!” What was this, Rose wondered, déjà vu or something? Surely there were only so many strangers out there who could pop up out of nowhere and save her with that single word, especially in the space of one week.

Not Just Anyone )

"as if he’d known for a long time that she was exactly what he needed, but he hadn’t been able to have her."

Awwwww! This was such an interesting twist, I really enjoyed it.

I can't imagine the Doctor just being able to completely move on from being turned down by Rose. There's a reason he asked her along in the first place, and a reason he came back and asked again. He needed her, and I think even this early in their relationship he already sort of knew that.

I'm very glad you liked it. Thanks for reviewing.

I can't seem to stop writing Rose into Human Nature fics, so I daresay a sequel is probably inevitable for this one. :)

I so second this request. This needs to be written... like NOW.

Hee, thank you muchly. As I said above, I can't imagine just leaving this one be, giving that Rose-in-Human-Nature is a topic I adore.

Oh, that was brilliant-- totally believable, too! I thought your character interactions were just spot on-- "Rose"-era Jackie and Mickey just want to move on, Rose is hung up, and the Doctor has so many different thoughts running around his head that he keeps forgetting that Rose has no frame of reference for understanding regeneration.

Great twist at the end, too! Like everyone else, I would loooove a sequel. :)

Ah, well, the Doctor's always a little bit clueless when it comes to the whole regeneration issue, as if he thinks it should have no impact. Silly Doctor.

People can claim that Rose was selfish for treating Mickey and Jackie the way she did in early Series 1 all they like, but just look at how her leaving, and all the things she gets them involved in, ultimately change the two of them for the better. For all that I actually love 'Rose'-era Mickey and Jackie, I doubt either of them would ever have left the Estate if Rose hadn't done it first.

Thank you very much for a lovely review.

'Yay Doctor and Rose' is pretty much my constant reaction to these two. I can't promise when, but I have little doubt that I will write a sequel for this one.
