This entire fic is SQUEE-worthy! See--I bring evidence...
First: You bring the funny:
“Ooh. Birthday? New Year’s? Christmas? Secret Santa? I do love a good Secret Santa.” “I do love A Million Adipose and Counting. They’re just adorable.” “He sang the classics! Sinatra! Martin! Presley! Your country is blind.” "Cybers and Ciphers. Brilliant, just brilliant. Robots alive, lots of running, mysteries, and even the occasional dance number. ...the special effects are truly horrid compared to real life
Next: You rip our hearts out
He’s a talker, especially when he feels the need to correct the exposition, but when things are funny his chest rattles with laughter and when they’re sad, he grows perfectly still, the beat of two hearts echoing." “Why is she being like that? He’s the same man,” the Doctor reasons. “But, it’s not the same! He’s not the same! I mean, he is, but he isn’t.” Rose tries to explain, but she can’t even wrap her own mind around it. After all, she wants Aeryn and John together, no matter which version

it's been so long since I saw farscape, and even then I was only half watching (please don't kill me) but i can honestly say I'd never connected the dots the way you have, brilliantly I might add.
and there's just so many lines I adore, I'd be here all day if I started quoting, but I need more coffee, so I wont.
I literally was sitting in front of my computer for hours, trying to come up with a show for them to watch. Finally I decided that I should list all the shows I knew with clones and BAM, Farscape. I wish I had time to rewatch Farscape and put in a few more less general parallels, but any Farscape makes me happy. :)
Oh you really should. It's an amazing show that was cancelled far too soon. There is a bit of a parallel between John/Aeryn and Nine/Rose, only it's the woman that's the hard - bitten soldier and the guy who's thrown into this whole new world beyond his control and somewhat innocent in the beginning (and gets whumped like hell over the course of the show). There's even sentient ships!
Oh, you are so right about John/Aeryn and Nine/Rose! I should totally have put that in there.
Also, I always recommend Farscape. The 2002-2003 Friday line-up of Farscape/Stargate SG-1 was AMAZING. My friends and I used to have pizza parties in its honor.
