The facts of drowning are simple. You’re submerged, water fills your lungs, and you die. They say though the devil is in the details. The details being five steps.
First there is surprise; there is no screaming because the victim is too afraid. Next the involuntary breathe holding, now they are below the water and the body involuntarily closes the epiglottis. Then unconsciousness, the body shuts down from lack of 02, the body sinks either rapidly or slowly depending on the conditions. Convulsions set in due to the lack of oxygen, the victim goes into cardiac arrest. Being unconscious though they do not feel the pain, they do not see the horror as they sink further and further into the dark abyss.
Loving Rose Tyler is like drowning
There are no words to describe the beauty of the curve of her spine. No breathe is left in him when she takes his hand. He starts to seize when she presses against his side and smiles up at him with her tongue between her teeth. He sinks when she kisses him, his heart stops when she runs her hands through his hair.
When they part even for a moment a part of him dies and he sink further and further into the darkest place of his heart. Because the fire still burns for vengeance and blood and without her to quell it he fears it may consume him.
When they are together he is numb in the best possible way. There is no war, no time and no mistakes to haunt him. There is her only filling up his lungs numbing his brain and paralyzing his body. Every time he does behold her he knows he is only five steps away from the most sweetest death.
