I Capture the Castle is completely charming, right? It's weird though, because I always feel like other people should know it, though I guess it's true that they mostly don't.

It might be more popular than I think -- but when I read it I was 10 or 12 and no one had really heard of it. It's by the lady who wrote The Hundred and One Dalmatians so she has the eternal devotion of my inner 6-year-old.
That, or they can just be themselves, but, you know. Altered to fit into this different universe. It's just like writing an AU, only instead of putting them in like, India, where Rose is a Colonel's daughter and the Doctor's a friend of the family, you're placing them in an already existing universe, from one of these books.
