Yes, based on this, I am guilty of using the word 'guilt' when I really meant 'shame'. However, instead of feeling shame, I shall instead channel that energy into using the two words correctly, as per the Oxford English Dictionary's definitions:

Shame:
1. A painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behaviour;

1.1 A loss of respect or esteem; dishonour;

1.2 A person, action, or situation that brings a loss of respect or honour.

Guilt:
1. The fact of having committed a specified or implied offence or crime;

1.1 A feeling of having committed wrong or failed in an obligation.

Thank-you for the clarification. I am one with the learnings!
