Problem 2:

How old will you be when you need to call the NIST people to report that your clock is off by one second? NIST-7 uses oscillations of radiation that are emitted by cesium-133 to keep time. When the clock is one second off, how many oscillations will have occured? Use scientific notation and the factor-label method in your calculations.

Haha..

I'd drop the class but I have to take it because I want to be an architect, and this is the kinda math I'd use.

Yeah, that's exactly why I'm not taking Physics. But, I'm taking AP Calculus, so I guess it all evens out.

Yea I mean, that's my issue. It's a senior class, but I'm a junior. So everyone's had Algebra 2, so it's a little easier for them. It's okay though, I'm a tough cookie.

See I would, but my teacher gets all our questions from either a seperate book without answers in the back, or it's from the internet from the books website, and they don't give the answer for a week.

the question isnt how many oscillations due to the loss of a second, it is how much of your life you have lost due to having waaaay too much time on your hands to think about that. =P
