trust me [logan and rogue]

Before going to see Kayla, Logan knew there was one other person he needed to see before he and Victor set out to find Stryker on their own. There was so many possibilities that could result in their plan. He remained optimistic that they would find him, and end him. Yet, there was that tug of realism that haunted him. What if he didn't come back ( Read more... )

Even with people grouping up to do things before classes started, Marie had gone back to her secluded ways. She barely even wanted to see the people she was close with. Not with Erik blaming her. She shouldn't have taken it so hard, but Marie did. She'd come to trust him, despite her better judgment.

The knock at her door had her lifting her chin. "Come in." She said, not entirely sure she wanted to see anyone at the moment.

She smirked a little and huffed at that. "Yeah, I've noticed. I hate bein' treated like a kid. It's not like I dunno how to take care of myself. I've lived on my own for years. Just feels like everyone's got their own agendas, and no matter what I do for some people, it's always wrong."

She was talking about Erik, of course.

That earned her an eyebrow raise. "Who's doing that?"

As far as he knew, it wasn't him. They barely had crossed paths and when they did, the both of them were too busy feeling guilty over what happened during the raid.

"It's nothin' I can't handle, Logan." Except she couldn't. He stomach lurched at the thought of what he last said. Blaming her. Her hands went to her sides and she looked down at the bed.

He repeated the question again, this time with a edge of force to it.

"Who's doing it, Rogue?"

She knew that tone and gave him a look. She knew why he wanted to know, but really, was it that heard to figure out, Logan? "Who'd you think?"

He suspected, and the frown on his face grew to pure annoyance. What was worse was that he couldn't do anything about it.

"I don't know why you even bother talking to him."

"Sometimes he's helpful." She sighed. "I just didn't need another reminder that what happened was my fault."

Not when she was starting to actually move on from it.

"What happened in the future? Or, here?" Logan angled his head inquisitively.

"Erik wasn't in the future. Well he was, but I hadn't seen him." She crossed her arms defensively before looking down.

"He was just the first person who ran into me after I returned here. We got into an argument some time after Johnny showed up here. I guess Storm said somethin' to Erik and he knew I had told Storm about his older self. But it's not like Storm wasn't there when it happened. He pretty much told me I'm not allowed to talk 'bout it, because it paints him negatively. Like he actually cares or somethin'." She pursed her lips. "So we just ended up in another argument. He insists on belittlin' me."
