The Time of Angels, some more, a lot

Guys, I just went and stared at kittens for a full thirty minutes (um, maybe more. I don't know). Just staring. Which would, I'm sure, be kind of creepy if you were one of the kittens. "zomg! will it eat us? MOM!" (I went out to feed mom, and there was panic and tumbling and mewing and diving into the brush. they're very new, so they're still ( Read more... )

I enjoyed your brain ramble a lot. :) And River is very neat, and cranky!Doctor is cute, as is Biting!Doctor with Space Teeth. (Which made me think of B7's Tarrant, heh).

Also, your lack of memory for music is interesting!

*salute* I'm glad the rambling made some bit of sense. I just felt compelled by the fun of the episode. And Space Teeth! Lolz, man, lolz.

And I love this music, the "the Doctor's about to be very clever and dramatic and possibly blow something up" music. Is that new this year? (I'm bad with music (though I love it). I can't actually remember it. Literally, absent it playing, I can't consciously recall it at all

It's the Doctor's new theme, which played prominently in The Eleventh Hour as well (I especially loved how it swelled when his TARDIS key started glowing). I have a post over here that links to some YouTube postings of the themes and stuff taken from the separate HD sound tracks from The Eleventh Hour.

Ah, excellent. Thank you. I thought it was new. I really like that piece. And, thanks for the links. I saw your post, and meant to go back and click through those links, but totally forgot. I think I'll spin through those today.

Technically, with the knowledge she somehow has, River can say she is anything in relation to the Doctor. We don't know how she knows what she does about the Doctor, but she has never said herself how either. So far she hasn't outright said anything to declare herself. She just lets other people fill in the blanks. Seems odd.

Two things in her favor though: 1) She has a good honest death under her belt. Maybe it takes her a while to be that person, but in the end she has a real enough relationship with the Doctor she'd let whatever long con she has going on go unfinished without hesitation when it came time to lay it all out. 2) When she meets the Doctor for the first time he is the one with all of the knowledge and the upper hand and she is the one clueless. Knowing everything he knows he lets her start on her path of pestering him so apparently he thinks it is worth it (and likely for more reasons than preserving the time line).

I agree with you on all points.

She just lets other people fill in the blanks. Seems odd.
I wonder how much that is the Doctor's influence. Though, here she's very cagey, probably at least a bit on account of the whole Prison thing and whatever her agreement is with the Bishop and his concern about the Doctor finding out and not helping them (though she wouldn't necessarily know it, the last time she saw the Doctor, whenever that was, he'll have known all about whatever she's up to here).

In the Library episodes, she's vague because, I think it's as she said, he's set down rules about spoilers, because he no doubt remembers what a nosey bastard he was there. He knows better, but he couldn't help himself. It must really drive him mad to not know a large part about himself that somebody else does.

Knowing everything he knows he lets her start on her path of pestering him so apparently he thinks it is worth it (and likely for more reasons than preserving the time line).Undoubtedly. I think that's one of the things I so like about ( ... )
