Fun article comparing Star Wars to Hunger Games

Mike Ryan compares the characters of THG to characters from SW:

The Hunger Games Is the New Star Wars

He sticks with Episode IV characters, you'll be glad to know. He makes a lot of good points, too. Now I kinda want him to do Lord of the Rings.

That is quite cool. I liked the Han Solo/Haymitch comparision. Because if you're only taking the first movie(s) into account here, that works surprisingly well. And he makes an interesting general point about the lovable rogue learning to care... when they don't they're probably just the unlovable jerk in the end. (At least the way Hollywood movies work.)

Nice. :)

NGL, when Peeta gets taken away at the end of "Catching Fire" I couldn't help thinking of Han at the end of "The Empire Strikes Back." In fact, I waited and waited for Snow to claim he was Katniss's father. Hell, I still kind of want to read that.

I could see this. I never thought of it before, but I could totally see this.

Lord of the Rings and... dare I say, Harry Potter next?
