George Fraley held his wife’s hand, and pushed the cart with the other. They were picking up some groceries for Jason’s tenth birthday party.
They had just stopped in front of the ice cream section, and Grace was scanning all the flavors.
“What flavor is the cake,” George asked, trying to be helpful. She had ordered the cake last week, but he hadn’t heard what flavor it was because he had been working on one of his client’s websites at the time.
Grace turned to face him with a smirk. “You weren’t listening when I told you.”
“No,” He gave her sad puppy dog eyes that begged not to be in trouble.
Grace patted his cheek. “I knew you weren’t listening completely.” She gave him a ‘you’re not in trouble’ smile. “Jason’s cake is marble chocolate and vanilla.”
“Mint chocolate chip,” George suggested, after a few seconds.
She smiled. “I like that.” She let go of his hand, and put several half-gallons in the cart. “Four for the party, and one for us to eat later.”
George and Grace shared a happy kiss, and walked out of the frozen food section.
