Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced by her to sound more like bouquet) was planning to have one of her candlelight suppers tonight. Strangely, though her husband, Richard who was supposed to be helping her, was no where to be found. She had also called her friend, and neighbor, Elizabeth or her brother Emmett seemed to be answering the phone.

She wondered where everyone could be, but she didn’t have time to worry about little details like where people were at the moment. She was sure that they would be here by the time the candlelight supper started, and will have helped with anything that she needed before it starts.

The phone rang, and she went out into the phone alcove to answer it. “Bou-Quet residence, Lady of the house speaking?” She answered loudly and cheerfully into the phone.

“Oh, Sheridan.” She greeted her son happily, it was always good to hear from him, as she rarely got to see him when he was away at school. Her son was always so busy with all his male friends and all of their little adventures.

“Mommy, misses you darling…Yes, tonight is my candlelight supper, it is nice of you to remember Mommy’s events…How is everything… Oh, you need some money…Your father isn’t here, I’ll make sure to talk to him when he gets back. I’m sure we can drop you a check…For 300 pounds,” She paused a minute, her hand playing with her necklace for a moment, she knew Richard wasn’t going to like this request. Richard hated to depart with money, he always seemed to act as if they were on some type of low income.

“Oh, its to re-wallpaper your apartment. I will talk to daddy, I am sure he will send the check. Bye darling, I love you.” Hyacinth hung up her slimline phone/

She’ll have to talk to Richard later about the request. Right now, she had to worry about her candlelight supper.
