Food mostly

This post is going to be mostly pregnancy and food stuff, so feel free to skip it if you're bored with that already. I'd understand! ;)

So the only sweets that sound good is chocolate. Anything chocolate. Most especially brownies, or ice cream. Or brownies and ice cream. Otherwise, sweet things sound disgusting. Especially citrus fruit, but fruit ( Read more... )

It's funny how everyone's cravings are different. I always wanted chocolate, but citrus fruit was almost always SOOOO good to me!

Getting enough protein is SO hard, especially if you have food aversions. The best thing I did was get Greek yogurt because there are like 23g of protein per serving in the Fage brand. Expensive, but worth it!

Yeah, Emily was telling me the other day that when she was pregnant with Evlyn almost the only thing she *could* eat was citrus. I feel grosser just thinking about it! Ha ha.

It IS hard. Stinking hard. The greek yogurt might be a good option, even though it is like more than twice as expensive as regular yogurt. I'll have to see how close I get on protein after a couple days tracking and decide if we need to try something like that. I just wish I could drink protein shakes! But they usually made me feel sick before I was pregnant. I really can't even imagine trying to drink them regularly now. The good thing is I don't seem to have any aversions to meat, but that gets expensive, too! One thing that did work the other day though was making a fruit smoothie (which is funny since I really don't want fruit, but something about it being frozen made it okay) that I added yogurt and a farm fresh egg to. I know it's supposed to be a no-no eating raw eggs while pregnant, but I feel okay about it as long as they're not store eggs.

Yeah, I ate tons of raw eggs in smoothies while pregnant and we are both still alive!

Here are some stats which you might find encouraging. The risk of miscarriage once you pass the day your period should've started is only 10%. Once you hear/see the heartbeat, it's only 5%. So go to the midwife and get a sonogram, so you can feel even better! :D

Oh man, I've been wanting salsa SO badly. I cannot wait for summer when I'll be making fresh salsa constantly! David went upstairs last night to see if his parents had any he could give me and he came back all triumphant, and I was like, "Are you sure it's still good?" (his parents fridge is known for getting overrun with "stuff" and having a lot of stuff go bad) and he's like, "I don't see any mold," and then he goes to pop the lid off and it makes this big pop/fizz sound. He sniffs it and goes, "Yeah, it's fermented." LOL SO disappointing ( ... )
