„Ah, Colin, just the man I-,“ Bradley starts, but Colin stops him with a wave of a hand.
“Not now, Bradley, Asa's waiting,” he explains in passing and in the next second Bradley finds himself alone in the vast courtyard.

“And that, Merlin fans,” he turns the camera around and focusses on his own face, “is what happens, when you have animals and children on set. Well, he wasn't like that with the rottweiler, but that... Oh, sod it.”

He shuts off the camera - teasing Colin is no fun, when Colin isn't actually around to blush that pretty shade of pink and smile embarrassedly before retaliating.

Bradley looks down at the tablet in front of him. Steak and veggies - brilliant!
Out of the corner of his eyes he notices Colin approaching and gently pushes the chair beside him back with a foot for Colin to sit down.

But Colin doesn't even look at him and walks past to a table in the corner, where Katie, hardly ladylike, is fooling around with her food next to a delightedly giggling Asa.

Bradley stares, dumbfounded, as Colin slides into the seat next to hers, eyes crinkling in amusement.

“Aw, don't they look almost like a family?” Tony asks, as he sits down across the table, a soft expression around his eyes. “Asa is such a charming young boy.”

Bradley scoffs and viciously stabs a piece of broccoli.
“I thought you want him executed,” he mumbles around the vegetable in his mouth, and thinks that Uther might have a point.

-

It's their day off and Bradley's looking forward to a day of doing nothing, or not much, watch a few DVDs with Colin and maybe bully him into fetching them some ice cream.

When he opens the door of Colin's hotel room - because he agrees with Merlin, knocking is for losers (like Angel) - he's surprised to find Colin not in his customary chequered pyjama bottoms and washed-out t-shirt, but in jeans and jacket, ready to go out.

“Wha-?” Bradley stumbles over his words. “Where are you going?”

Colin turns around.
“Oh, uh, Katie and I are taking Asa to Disneyland.”
Bradley doesn't like the apologetic tone in his voice and how his gaze strays nervously. Not at all.

“Oh, just let me get dressed and I'll come along,” It's not quite what he had imagined, but a Bradley James is flexible.

“Uh.” Colin looks at his shoes now and the way he shifts from one foot to another tells Bradley what's about to follow.

“I'm sorry, Bradley, but Angel decided to come along and then Tony wanted to join us... and...,” he looks at him like Merlin when Arthur makes a remark about trust and secrets - guilty and torn.
“There's no more space in the car...”

Bradley spends the day sulking preparing for his role, learning his lines, like every responsible actor would do, instead of wasting their time at a theme park.

On the phone his mum tells him that he's too old to be jealous of an eleven-year-old, but, for one thing, what does she know and, for another, he is definitely not jealous!

-

Bradley manages to corner Colin between two of the little huts the team built near the castle.
Everyone's hurrying home - or to their temporary home away from home - after a long day shooting, Bradley watches them pass while he lurks around in the shadows, waiting for his co-star.

“Morgan,” he says and steps into his path as Colin finally comes into sight.

Colin jumps, hand settling on his chest as if to feel whether his heart's still beating.
“Bradley! For fuck's sake, you scared me!”

“Oh, I'm sorry, Colin,” Bradley grins, “so sorry I scared you, Colin.”
Colin rolls his eyes, but even in the dim light of the evening he can make out the beginning of a smile that's curling the edges of his mouth.

“What is it Bradley? I'm in a bit of a hurry, Asa-” Oh, no, Bradley's not having that again!
He grabs for Colin's wrist and pulls him closer, tries to prevent him from escaping again, but he misjudges either his own strength or Colin's, because Colin overbalances and stumbles forward into Bradley.

And it happens just like that. In the blink of any eye.

Suddenly Colin is close enough for Bradley to breathe in his smell.
He smells of horses and grass, a faint tinge of aftershave and sweat, and Bradley feels his nostrils flare as he sucks the scent in greedily.

His eyes are big and so blue up close, just as his lips are full and pink.
It's a whole new angle, Bradley thinks, a whole new way of seeing Colin, and something shifts and he leans forward to brush his lips against Colin's cheek, testing the waters.

“Bradley,” Colin says, but then Bradley's mouth is covering his and he doesn't say anything, just brings up a hand to cup Bradley's cheek and kisses back.
It's soft and teasing, they're redefining boundaries, tentatively reacquainting themselves with each other.
Bradley sucks in Colin's lower lips gently and Colin yields, parting his lips to allow Bradley's tongue to slip past them.

When they part, Bradley looks at Colin, fully expecting him to have changed, but it's still just Colin.
The same, but different.

“So... what about Asa?” Bradley asks softly, clutching Merlin's rough tunic, because he does feel a bit weak at the knees even though he's not going to admit it.
Colin stares at him uncomprehending, eyes slightly glazed. “Who?”

The victory dance can wait, Bradley decides, for now he'll just lean forward again and... yes, that. Just like that.
