I've been eyeballing Candy Darling on Netflix, trying to decide whether to watch it. I will be watching it this weekend as a result of the image in your post.

That image is from Pie in the Sky, actually, but Candy Darling is excellent, too! I definitely recommend both of them, but if you're looking for the image (and my favorite of the two documentaries, watch Pie in the Sky!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who dreams about Russia. It seems like such a curious place and I get mistaken for being Russian/Eastern European all the time due to my strange face. Once in a self portrait community someone called me "Baba Yaga" and I took it as a compliment. :P

Have you seen this stuff? it's crazy!

Some Russians stole some weird playground photos from my website and posted them there without crediting me. So weird. I want to go and see that stuff.

I would definitely take that as a compliment. I'm assuming that's you in the icon, and you are beautiful! I can definitely see how people think that. I hadn't see that livejournal. Thanks for sharing it. Wild?! I love the wooden carved ones, the best. Neat stuff! Have a great Saturday.

Oh my, Brigid Berlin's home is just glorious! I was just listening to a story on This American Life about three women whose full time job is opening up boxes of Andy Warhol's stuff and documenting it. It was fascinating. I will have to check out those documentaries.

You sound so much like me! Garden & Gun is my absolute favorite magazine. I get made fun of all the time for reading it.

Before I had to leave school, I was an Anthropology major and Russian minor. I took three years of language and it is to this day the best language I have ever studied. The culture and history are beyond fascinating! We should talk!

It's a great magazine, and wow, I would've loved to have studied the language! I'm glad I'm not the only one interested. Any book recommendations on the subject? I'm Sarah. It's so nice to "meet" you!
