I'm such a noob... I had a cab scheduled to pick me up at 3:30 am for my flight that left at 6 am. I set my alarm on my watch, I showered, I packed, I was all ready to go. I was just gonna nap for 3 hours until the alarm went off, head downstairs, catch the cab, and be in the US in no time

If you haven't talked to bossman yet, blame it on the hotel. They aren't going to check with them anyways. Tell him that they are going to let you stay the night free and pay for it out of pocket.

I know it's easier said than done but don't fret it. The important thing is that the reason you went over there is mission accomplished.

The hotel has actually been super cool and since I've already stayed here for two weeks, they're going to give me the extra two nights for free. It was still 300 euro to transfer my ticket, but if that's a cost I have to eat, I'll just chalk it up to an "idiot tax".
