Bush nominated John Roberts last night. I think it was a really solid nomination. But.....you already knew I'd say that didn't you? ;)

LOL-- I logged on specifically because I had a feeling you would post SOMETHING about that today. Now I need you to explain to me why this is NOT such a horrible thing... :)

Well because he's white, male, probably loves driving SUV's around town, especially just to waste gas for the fun of it! :) And I hear he has his own logging company where tons and tons of rain forrest is regularly destroyed!!! So he's like.....perfect!

(laughing yet?)

You know I'm playin.

No, for real, from my understanding he's only about 50, so this is going to be a reeeeeally long appointment, we're probably looking at a future Chief Justice maybe 15 to 20 years from now. They say he was the best lawyer in DC(which is saying something) in the past years. He knows his stuff, and obviously is more bent towards my political leanings so I tend to like that of course. I'm betting that Bush will appoint a woman whenever Rehnquest(sp?) steps down probably sometime next year. He sure is a stubborn old guy, in his mid 80's and still truckin. Gotta give him that at least right.

See the thing is, I have explained my political beliefs to you more than most, because we DO have some commonalities. I am very central in a lot of aspects but because of my election groups that I joined because of my strong distaste for Bush, I am getting bombarded with emails about why I should hate this man. I can honestly say I was hoping O'Connor would hang on and the old dude would back out so now it is my hopes that Rehnquist will wait to go away (or die) until the next office is taken because there are still some of my lefty issues that I would like to see upheld. That being said, I am really impartial to the new dude until I see more about him and what he is about.
