Daniel and I are listening to Tears for Fears for the second time today and he just whispered to me that he thinks you should be doing the same.

I imagine that managers think to themselves that since its a "cool" job, you should be willing to jump through whatever bullshit hoops to keep it. I totally relate to this post.

That's exactly the thing that irks me most. Working at a record store sounds like the best job in the world, and I constantly feel like my boss is purposely trying to make it unenjoyable as possible.

Is your picture from Audition?

yeah, my usually overwhelming vanity was superceeded by my love for that movie...ummm...

For every cool fun thing I do I feel like I have to do about 50 sheets of paperwork. And then I get paper cuts and bleed all over the place. I hope they catch my diseases.

That looks shockingly like what I've been listening to lately. On the subject of dirty south mixtapes--I just got this really Little Brother mixtape called "Separate But Equal"

Yeah, Minstrel Show is the only one I've heard so far but it definitely won me over in a very short amount of time. I'll have to check that one out.

I was over at Hastings a few weeks back and I skimmed through the first few tracks of Young Jeezy's "The Inspiration" and it didn't really do much for me. I know he's been getting pretty favorable reviews and I noticed awhile back that you had been listening to "Let's Get It"; I was just wondering if I'm missing something and I should try and give it a closer listen, or maybe if "Let's Get It" is a stronger album or its something else entirely.

Let's Get It is a much stronger album. I hear that his DJ Drama mixtapes are stronger still, but I haven't heard those. Young Jeezy really isn't much of a rapper, but I like his brutal honesty--he pushes the "black people should sell coke because there really isn't a place in America for us to do much else" speil in a way that makes me feel really guilty about being white.

On the subject of Little Brother, I think I'm the only person in the world who prefers Big Poo's rhymes to Phonte--Phonte has the broader vocabulary, but he seems to waste it almost exclusively on rhymes about how rap needs to get better.
