He hadn’t slept last night. And now he can’t sleep. The world is fuzzy at the edge of his vision, but he can’t go anywhere. He sits with his back against the wall, staring at Viv’s lifeless face. Even after outright volunteering for this, it takes a while to talk himself into it. He supposes that, on some level, he was hoping he would make the offer, and she'd turn around and say she wasn't serious, or she was only trying to make a point or something. Anything that'd let him off the hook.
