Does you work have one of these boxs for recycling of waste not to go into a landfill. I have one for batteries, emptry spray cans, etc.

The hardest thing to get used will be the touch screen keyboard (if you got the basic Desire, not the Z). My thumbs are too fat so I waited until the Z with the slide out keyboard was available. The only problem is that it's almost twice as heavy as the regular Desire.

Yeah, your local recyling center should take the battery, if they take old electronic gubbins.

The touchscreen isn't an issue - I've had many months of practice using various Blackberrys cos of work. Plus the "i think you typed this" error correction seems to work pretty good IMO.

Ah right, most blackberries I've seen have physical keyboards.

There are a few models with touchscreens out there now, plus one that has
a slide out keyboard similar to the HTC Desire Z you mentioned.
