I have decided that this is the most amazing icon ever. It makes me so happy.
Utterly Amazing Books About Thieves and Conmen I Would Really Like to Recommend
(They are amazing books. I would rec them for their writing/plot alone.)

Megan Whalen Turner's The Queen's Thief series. Not a word, and not a single thing, is out of place in any of

Out of all these authors, I think Megan Whalen-Turner and Scott Lynch would be more your thing, if you hadn't read them already. I don't think Chimera is quite your sort of thing (I think it's the sort of writing you wouldn't have much patience with), unless you're in the mood to read what I'd call thriller-trash: it has a nice concept, but the writing isn't exactly smooth going all the way through: there are occasional clunkers in the dialogue, as many as there are good lines. Have you read Thurman's work before? I suspect it might not be your thing (I don't think it's up to the usual standard of writing you enjoy), but one never knows.

Also, what's going on here?? Last weekend I bought Queen & King of Attolia, but I want to read the Demon's Covenant I also bought first. Someone on the flist makes a post drawing big red hearts all around Queen of Attolia, so that gets bumped up the reading queue. I finish Queen yesterday (and also go ♥♥♥♥), and then you make a post about the books! Is it all ... A CONSPIRACY OF THE LOVE MAFIA?
(Pst, someone's name is missing at the beginning of the Thief rec.)

If we were in the same country it would be a party. \o/
Demon's Lexicon: Loev Nick, wish Alan would have been honest about the demon thing rather than going all mastermind about it, but loev him too. Mae's nice, and it's intriguing that Sin is going to be the third POV character. Like, what?? But anyone calling themselves 'Sin' with a straight face gets a positive mark from me. Currently Jamie is not on my list of favourites but I'm open to Covenant changing my mind.
The Thief: Eugenides is indeed of the best (so clever and proud and vain!). Unfortunately he's also Thief King Bakura from Yuugiou, I cannot unsee. Frankly I'm scared to read King of Attolia, as Queen of Attolia had me neglecting to breathe. But ... looking at those names I don't recognise has me EXCITE. If Attolia + Attolis = Irene + Eugenides, I probably will ( ... )
