re. the sharing: am quite sure Hatch Senior knew about Lee's feelings and just said that to UP THE SUFFERING. HE DOES NOT SHARE.
I bet in school he didn't share Lee, either. SO THAT HE WAS LEE'S ONLY FRIEND.
... for some horrible reason this is giving me flashbacks to sadistic!Hibari/Tsuna doujin, in which Hibari professes his "love" for Tsuna by beating/maiming/destroying anybody else who is nice to Tsuna because Hibari does not share what is his.

Half of that is flush, half of it the way a dog lights up, in everything from his ears to his eyes to his mouth. If Lee had a tail, thinks Veser, and is immediately rather sorry for thinking it, he would be wagging.
"Out to the garage," says Dad twinklingly, with the kind of smile that Veser would like to give that girl who sits in the third row in class, the one who smiled at him when she saw him fighting the fuckers who don't like his teeth. He only realises this when he sees it done horribly right on his father's face.
"Dinner will be ready soon, though," Mom coos through her hair, hanging softly over her face to hide a snarl.
"Boy time, darling," Dad laughs at her, and even his laugh is bright, from where Veser is sitting in his room with the shadows of the sun setting casting long lines against the wall, and he sits there in the dark thinking of nothing in particular for a while until his mom calls him down ( ... )

Heeeey, it was gonna be a Veser/Lee FST instead of this: which was actually not much better, really. But um. Possibly less depressing.
I bet there will be flashbacks that can give this pairing a bit of backing, with the level of bromance this comic has.
I would like at least one iconable moment from this; either a sepia flashback or a faded Polaroid/photograph, with them HAPPY TOGETHER. Arms slung around each other's back optional.

... I feel like I am the ONLY person sitting here who TOTALLY MISSED THE LEE TRAIN COMPLETELY. I MEAN. It seems like people around me SAW the Veser/Lee and the Veser's Dad/Lee JUST BY READING THE COMIC AND ALL BEFORE ANY FANWORK WHATSOEVER, and it took me fanwork to see Veser/Lee, and only that + a lot of thinking before I even thought about Veser's Dad/Lee.
