Technically, I may be a day early for my recs, but it's past midnight in my time zone (UK) so I guess I'll get away with it.

Okay, so here goes. We all have our favourite character who was killed off before their time, so this week's recs are dedicated to those who are gone but not forgotten.

I wished I'd read that one at the time it was first posted (blame it on the crappy old laptop I used to have which started failing at around that time!)

Awww, thanks for the rec -- so kind of you! And yes, we absolutely need some more Michael in fic; he's a character that can be used so effectively (as you and others have proven), but he seems to be one of the ones most left to the wayside.

I don't know whether that's because a) the character's had two seasons where he's been absent and therefore there's been no fresh material for him, b) people find him difficult to ship since he's really had very little action of that kind or c) because people have disliked him so much since Two for the Road.

Speaking for myself none of those apply, since there are so many aspects of Michael that can be looked at (in fact I tried to do exactly that back in May before posting at the Quill), and let's face it, a lot of the storylines have arisen out of some action of Michael's i.e. the encounter with the Tailies came about because Michael had the idea for the raft. So really, he is a very important character (quadrangle who?)
