[She's still looking at the peach. She knows it can't have been easy; something horrible must have happened if he'd lost them both on the same day.]
The last thing she did was tell me to 'run.' She lied to protect me, and that's why they killed her. I know it sounds pretty stupid, but I beat myself up forever.. I always felt like there was something I could have done to make it different.
[And she drops some peach onto the napkin.]
