Haha, really?
He actually did a few WWII-related movies before this upcoming one, and he's good in them. :) [I'll Remember April, Edges of the Lord]

Oh man... I'm sorry to hear about waiting until paperback. :(

I thought the movie was really good. It laid out all the points that needed to be put across. I have to say that it would be nice to have at least 30 minutes of footage but I left feeling satisfied that they didn't drag the film at all.

I completely agree.
Plus they made Harry less whiny in comparison to the one in the book. That made me happy. :)

I thought they cast Luna really well too... in the book she was really weird, but in the movie even though she's still kind of strange, she's also very charming. =)

I didnt end up liking the rest of the movie though because it was just too hard to get attached to any of the characters. The scenes felt way too disconnected and jumpy for me. I'm sad that its going to be the same director for the next movie =(

The Dumbledore vs Voldemort scene was badass though!

Yup. At first, I was very skeptical, since she didn't look the least bit like Luna. But then, movie magic! I really like her as Luna.

I do agree with the disconnection. I knew it was going to happen, though, because it's only 2 hours. I think they could do with another 30 minutes (like June said). AND YES. Dumbledore vs. Voldemort scene was glorious. I like that Dumbledore came in with style at the nick of time to save Harry. So, so cool.
