A fresh start for this community

I created this community nearly five years ago. And then, for a lot of reasons, I basically forgot about it. I had no idea that it had continued for quite some time in my absence, as I was the only maintainer. Somehow, there got to be 90 members, even though no one was paying attention to running it. After going through today and purging the ( Read more... )

Looks good. Now to get the ball rolling we need to determine some good topics which aren't just slander, libel, or hogwash for the masses. This is particularly true when discussing both Presidential Candidates, their policies, and plans...preferably without discussions centering on matters which have no bearing on policies.

I would ask that anyone who wishes to stay to comment here and let me know your account is still active. I'll purge the membership lists of those who haven't commented here within a week or so. I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds it annoying to find communities that seem to have 5,000 members, but where that number isn't an accurate portrayal of the true active membership.
Be that as it may, I would like you to consider that it is all too common for some journals and communities to demand the performance of various communicative tasks to stay in favor. It can become quite tiresome to face these demands, again and again. Is it really so important that we purge the list of users who don't reply to this post, even if it is only because they have faced demands like this one, too often?

In any case, I'm here. I hope you won't make this demand, again.

Adrian

Should be a one-time thing, and I'm only doing this because the community has been inactive for so long. And I'm not going to be too strict about purging anyone who doesn't comment here before doing some other things first such as checking their journals to see if they've posted lately. I just don't want to end up with 75% of our membership being journals that have been abandoned or deleted.
