Grad school owns my life right now. Thankfully, I think I passed the half-way mark...only a few more weeks to go before I have one of six semesters under my belt!

Work is insane, but in a good way. There's absolutely no drama, which is SUCH an awesome relief.

TV is still lacking. WTF, come on already!!! I watched Glee and have yet to see the ( Read more... )

uh, i kinda summarized season 1 for ya morlockiness October 18 2009, 21:39:57 UTC
The premise is two brothers, Sam and Dean, hunt demons, ghosts, etc. In s1 we learn their mother was killed by a demon when Sam was 1 and Dean was 4 (I think), which prompted their father to become a hunter and find the demon to kill it. Sam always wanted to be normal which was obviously pretty impossible given their father's line of work and the fact they constantly were moving, so he causes a rift in the family by escaping to college. When their dad goes missing, Dean contacts Sam and then season one takes off, the brothers looking for their dad while taking supernatural cases along the way.

All I needed to read was "hunt demons, ghosts, etc." and I was hooked.

I'll start looking for S1 episodes ASAP. :)

I haven't even bothered with Glee. And THANK YOU, I'm not the only one who's disappointed with this seasons Bones. It's lacking it's oomph, nes pas? Supernatural's pretty good, but I'd suggest starting from the beginning and working up to present, otherwise you won't get the nuances.
I'll suggest a few more of my fave fandoms:
House, True Blood (which is off season, but you can always get the first two if you want to catch up), Merlin. I'm completely stuck on the gay love in Merlin, and I'm not really a gay love person. It's the power of the gay love. It sucks you in. srsly.

Bones needs to shape up or I'm gone. Sadly. I was so excited for this season, too!

I'm going to start with S1 of Supernatural, as soon as I have some time to watch it.

I watch House, and it's OK. I liked it more back in the beginning.

Merlin was a flop for me. I don't know why!!!! All of my friends love it.

I watched the first episode of True Blood and hated it, though admittedly, I hated the first book in the series. Everyone said I should give it a second chance, so I guess I'll do that at the same time I'm test driving Supernatural.

Have you tried out Castle on ABC? I've heard a few good things about it, but no one seems to be as hot over it as they are over other shows.

Agreed. House was better in the first few seasons.
Merlin is just... well.. it's fucking crack. That's all it's good for. Seriously.
True Blood: I'll tell you what I've told everyone. The first 4 episodes caused me physical pain to watch due to the crappy acting and horrible character interaction. Please trust me when I say that they eventually slide comfortably into their roles and it does get a SHIT LOAD better. P.S., Lafayette is <3.

Castle is awesome. I think the best part for me is the Castle/daughter interaction. It just fills me with warm fuzzies and I aww through it. Although, I have to say, like Bones, I'm a little disappointed with it this season. Last season was fucking awesome. This season? Not so much. I need to be dazzled. And not by a shirtless Edward Cullen.
