Inkheart - The Movie!!

The months leading up to the Inkheart movie have been an emotional rollercoaster for me. ‘Look at this trailer! It looks so good!’ ‘Now there’s another trailer and it stinks…’ ‘they’ve got screenshots!’ ‘Whoa, their Resa is uber ugly…’ Etc. I went to see it with some friends yesterday, so I'm gonna review it. First a three word review, then a ( Read more... )

I've heard mixed reviews of Inkheart, so I haven't gotten around to trying it out yet... but I will! It probably won't be for awhile though. So, would you suggest seeing the movie soon or waiting howeverlong until I've given the book a try?

You can probably see it without reading the book first - it seems like it would still be pretty clear. You should read the book at some point, because it's GREAT, but you could see the movie first. It would still be REALLY GOOD.

Personally, I didn't like Brendan Fraser all that much in Inkheart. Yes, he looked the part, which isn't surprising considering Cornelia Funke based Mo on him, but.. he didn't have the Voice. Mo has a Voice that makes him such a good reader... I reckon if Paul Bettany had been Mo he would have had a better voice.

However I agree with you that he rocked as Dustfinger, which made me happy because Dustfinger is by far my favourite character - Mo always annoyed me slightly - and if they do make a sequel I'll be terribly upset at the end. ^_^

And also in Inkdeath because he's not in it enough, I think. Although he does get sexy and magical in a firey sort of way. ^_^

You have read Inkdeath, right? I got the English version for Christmas. It was very exciting, getting to read it in one sitting without a dictionary. :D

Yeah, I've read Inkdeath. It was pretty dang awesome! Although Inkheart will always be my favorite of the three.
The only actress who really bothered me that much in that movie was Sienna Guillory... not only do I not like her that much, but I also think they tried to make her too stunning-pretty, not cute-pretty, you know? Resa always seemed like she would look like... a mom, not a model. Maybe I'm wrong in that, but it's the impression I got. Roxane was supposed to be beautiful.
I don't think either of them read as well as they should have, given all the hype that the book gives. But really, it's supposed to be almost otherworldly - so it would be hard to reproduce.
And yes, Dustfinger was AWESOME. AWESOMEAWESOMEAWESOME.

Thank you! Thousand and And One Nights is a pretty famous book, actually, so most people would know it. And everyone else has seen Aladdin, so they'll get an idea of it. Great chatting with you today!
