I'll have the Internet know that I happy to enjoy Nickelback very much.

According to Wikipedia:
The name derived from the nickel in change Mike Kroeger's brother frequently had to give customers back in his job at a Starbucks coffee shop in which he would say, "Here's your nickel back".

I'll say it here, too. how often do you REALLY say "here's your nickel back" and not "here's your change"?
The woman at yagel bagel does that. "Your change is 43 cents, so here's your quarter, your dime, your nickel, and your three pennies. Have a nice day, come back soon!"
She's.. nice, but she's very.. she goes through EVERYTHING she's doing verbally.
Buh.

If I'm giving somebody big change back, then I'll count it as I pull it out of the register, and then I'll count it to them as I give it back. It's just..nicer.
Although "nickel back" sounds like an awkward phrase. I've given many nickels back at the Cafe before and I usually just said, "aaaannnd five cents is your change." or my favourite in French, "eeetttt ca fait cinq sous pour vous."

AHAHA that was hilarious. apparently, according to phil, a nickelback is a "five piece" which is, in his exact words, "a friggin joint". so either the guys are obsessed with what starbuck cashiers say, or drugs.
