Business Postcards

Mar 11, 2011 00:08

I'm thinking about creating some business postcards, since I would like to really get into creating costumes to sell to other people, but I don't really know what I should put on them. Thus, if anyone an help me, I'm going to post pictures of what I think are my best projects, and if you can all vote on what should go on there, that would be really ( Read more... )

The pic of the navy and gold gown next to the water is very pretty! And I think the 17thc would be stunning in a nice setting. (I hear you on the bathroom mirror photos! ;) )

Also gotta give you credit for thinking about selling costumes; I'm far too terrified that I'm actually a crap seamstress to ever entertain that idea! (What self-esteem issues?)

I totally understand the self-esteem issues. I feel like I know very little, because I teach myself new things with every project, and there is still sooo incredibly much I don't know. I would love to go back and get a masters in costume production at some point, but that's probably a long way off.

My mom keeps harping on me about the cards, though. She basically said whenever I get a complement on my garb at a ren faire, I should give them a card and tell them I can make something like that for them, too. I think she's crazy. It was stressful enough making the frock coat for my dad (3000 miles away) let alone a stranger paying me money!

And thanks - I think that dock picture is one of my favorite pics of me of all time.

I also am self-taught and learn something new with each project. But I know that I know a lot more than others; and I just put in an application to teach mosaics this summer. Yes, there are many people I look up to as masters of the art, but I'm still willing to put myself out there. "Willing for the shilling."

You are incredibly good. Yes, you can be better, but you are so much better that so many others. Confidence goes a long way. I love the picture of you looking over the water and also the one in the tudor gown. Use Gimp to edit out the black bra.

The picture from the Dickens fair is good, too.

could you start with some non-photo business cards while you are looking for a photographer to do some photos for you?
