You know, the thing I miss most about a paid LJ is not the icons, or the customability...it's being able to un-collapse comment threads. The Venture Bros kink meme has reached close to 70 comments and it's a pain having to open a new link to read comment threads ( Read more... )

w-wtf, I was not aware that you had to have a paid account to use the "expand" option. That's... that's bullshit, LJ. That's like when DeviantART required a paid account to use the search engine

I didn't realize it until I saw the option was gone. And then I was sad. And that's just lame. :/

I've never had a paid account and I see that option sometimes; the variable seems to be if the person or community you're reading has a paid account.

Or do paid accounts always have that option when they're yours? Either way, dammit, LJ!

Huh, maybe it does. I have no idea, LJ is seriously screwed up like that. I have found a Firefox addon that will make it work for me. Hurrah!

Hey, if you use Firefox, installing this addon puts in an expand/collapse button on each post in a thread, no paid account required. :3 It also has other stuff (like notifs for new posts to your flist and a watch comments feature which works better than LJ's a good part of the time), but that's my favorite part.

If you don't use FF, um... IDK. v_v

8Db It takes playing around with the settings to get everything turned on/off to your preferences, but it's worth it in the end, IMO.

Well if you're doing it because it makes you feel good, do it. I hve this guilty pleasure with crossovers, which I'm still doing. I rarely post it, too stressful.
