Deb, we need to talk

Jan 31, 2012 09:00

As I go through my work day I take a few minutes here and there to check email, eljay, facebook, etc. Every once in a while I'll see an article, post, fic, what have you, that looks interesting but that I can't stop to take a look at. In these cases, if it's something I think I will not see when I get home, I'll C&P the link into an email and ( Read more... )

Your mean side is the reason why I keep you around. Even if it's aimed at me. ;)

Ahahahahahahaha. And OMIGOD YESSSSS! I worry about the exact same thing, for the exact same reasons. Well, maybe not specifically those reasons, but close enough.

Also, "forrest of butt plugs" made me choke on my coffee. You do have a way with words, man. =)

Actually, I meant to put the Magical Forest of Butt Plugs Where It Rains Cockrings In Rainbow Colors, but I thought that might've been a little too much. ;)

Oh god, things like this are the reason why I am too terrified to use work internet for anything fandom-related! I think I'd just about die - my bosses are a gay couple and another guy who works mainly in the office is also gay and they would tease me mercilessly (although at least one of them knows what fanfiction is quite independently of me mentioning it - but haven't told any of them that I'm in fandom).

Perhaps you could use Google Docs instead? It might be safer! :P

I've always been a bit stupid of a rebel when it comes to my internet travels at work. I may have to look into Google Docs. ;)

That is my fear also, because I do the exact same thing! Sometimes I even keep printed fics in my desk (which has a locking cabinet) to read when no one's around, but I often worry that I forgot to lock my drawers after my shift. My co-workers and I are a fairly close bunch, so if one of us needs to borrow some random supplies (or work notes) from one another, we just help ourselves.

I know that no one would probably think twice about seeing a stack of printed paper (which I at least keep face down in the drawer!) but then I worry they'd be looking for my notes, and start actually reading what's on the pages. You think this would stop me from doing it, but so far it hasn't. What can I say? I like to live dangerously. ;)
