On Thursday, djm4 and shadowdaddy accompanied me to firstly an inedible curry (avoid the curry house near the Southwark end of The Cut) and then part 2 of The Big Brecht Fest at the the Young Vic. This included two of Brecht’s early plays: ( Detailed reviews under cut )

Saw it in March (last day, captioned performance), but yes.

Shame it was the last day as I'd have happily seen it again - the only other show I've said that about in the last 5 years was The Threepenny Opera with Alan Cumming at Studio 54, last year.

So did you think the last act was playing up the slash potential between Prospero and Ariel a tad more than usual? I've been asked to write said slash, but it's slow going as I haven't written in iambic pentameter for ages.

I've added you to my flist - if you log in again it ought to work. Or I'm just crap at linking - it's around 15 March this year.

It was the second last perf, but I suspect they might play up such subtexts more in London? Or have just decided to play about with it. Or it could just be us sitting 4 rows from the stage admiring Ariel's black rubber cassock, having adjectivemarcus waving from the upper circle and wanting such an outfit, and then considering how the Prospero/Ariel relationship looks rather like SM...
