grimjack sketches at the con

Oct 22, 2006 18:35

her royal Deviness haligen got me two sketches of my favorite comic character of all time GrimJack.
Early Birthday gifts for me.
I think I might start up a blog or website just for GrimJack sketches/art by different artists since my collection is growing quite large.

Enjoy. )

You've got Tim Truman GJ too, right? How about Flint Henry? Even Tom Mandrake would be cool.

I have a Truman GJ page (that I got from the man himself) and a Truman Spider page (that I got from Chuck Dixon). I used to have a Henry page years back when the book was still being published (Uncle Elvis got me that one from Flint) but it has gotten lost in the shuffle of college, opening my shop, getting married, closing my shop, moving around and getting divorced. I think it may be hidden somewhere in storage at my parents house.
I have always wanted to get at least one Mandrake piece, a Sutton page, and that mad dog Steve Pugh as well...
One of these days.

Uncle Elvis...that name sounds familiar. Letterhack?

Forgot that Pugh drew young GJ. Yes, that would rule. I think Tom Sutton died, though. True horror artist, that one.

yeah he was THE letterhack on GJ, and popped up in lots of other lettercols as well. The guy worked at the very first comic shop I ever visited in bumfuck Kentucky and eventually got me my first job there when he moved to TN.
Yeah I loved Pugh's stuff. He also did some great covers for Grimjack Casefiles.
Sutton died about 4 years ago I think. As a kid I loved his Godzilla comics for Marvel and I remember my brother bought almost every issue of the Star Trek comics he did for DC. But I still love his work on the Trade Wars.
