VALLEY STREAM (WABC) -- A Wal-Mart employee died and four others were hurt in the Black Friday rush to get into the Valley Stream store this morning.

The injuries occurred as the shoppers crammed into the Wal-Mart when the doors opened at 5 a.m.

I am always baffled that the sales are THAT GOOD enough to entice herds of sleep deprived people to haul their asses to these stores at 4 and 5 am. But, the idea that some one was killed and "...When they were saying they had to leave, that an employee got killed, people were yelling 'I've been on line since yesterday morning.' They kept shopping," I can't wrap my head around.

i try to never underestimate the human ability to rationalize questionable behavior -- throw in shiny objects and we get riots.

i'm still trying to wrap my head around the cashiers who rang up the tramplers of their fellow employee, i assume the nuremberg defense was in full effect.
